Silent Water

Formed initially as a guitar and voice duo by Jaouad Alloul and Alexander Piper at the beginning of 2024, Silent Water came into the world as a calm musical journey that questions our complex emotions and the injustices of our societies. Flowing between blues, soul and gospel, their songs found their origins in everyday life. Observers of life – often overcome by a feeling of powerlessness – Jaouad and Alex turned their conversations into poetic and powerful anthems, taking listeners on a journey hoping to emphasize the interconnectedness of all things, inviting them to look deep inside themselves as well as the world all around them.

Silent Water recently expanded to include two new members, Gabriel Policardo on bass and Martin Baudriller on drums. With this new breath of life, their aim now is no longer to simply observe our world’s inequalities and call them out. Now is the time to act, to make that change. Diving deep into the world of rock’n’roll, Silent Water draws inspiration from various musical influences to fine-tune their sound. From psychedelia to gnaoua, they are combining musical flavours from across the world to create their own unique voice.
