Hi,
I'm missingN0, a Brussels-based DJ and producer.
I play techno, drum & bass, jazz, ambient, hip hop. Not as a genre exercise, but because I believe there's a way to thread all of these together into something that feels like a trip, where each genre carries its own visual world, its own weight, and the movement between them is the point. My sets move between states — from 120 to 190-200 BPM, where hip hop and drum & bass share the same grid at half and double time — from dancefloor to something closer to a psychedelic drift and the passages in between are where the work actually happens. Rhythm is punctuation. The ambient moments aren't rest stops, they're what makes the dancing mean something when it returns.
I aim to be a magic bus driver who happens to use records.
The alias comes from « MISSINGNO », the glitch Pokémon that exists outside the game's Pokédex, illustrating the idea of a lack of a single way to categorize what I play. That's an honest description of what I'm trying to do. DJrum is probably the closest reference point I can offer, though I'd rather you make your own opinion by listening.
I play vinyl, with a hybrid digital setup to bridge the gap while I build my collection —I aim to go full analog. I'd love to find the right room for it, even a short slot, even early in the night. I'm not looking for a headline. I'm looking for an audience that's ready to go somewhere.
