BOMBATAZ
XXX is the opening track of Bombataz' new album Baby Dry My Tears.
It starts with a menacing bassline and evolves into an intense ride filled with energy bursts, haunting melodies and introspective lyrics. They use trap kicks, inspired by nineties R'n'B, guitars that sound like popping balloons on steroids, harp-like synth sounds extracted from 2010s vaporwave and intriguing vocals that could remind you of early Radiohead.
The song takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and self-discovery.
The evocative lyrics serve as a mirror to our lives, reflecting the intricate interplay between our emotions and the online personas we craft. It is about the ambiguities of reality and identity, in a world where the lines between reality and illusion blur and the tangible and the virtual converge. XXX challenges us to look beyond the screens, urging us to question the authenticity of our emotions and actions. It's a reminder that we must never lose sight of the real, tangible emotions that make us human.
Bombataz' new sound is a unique take on alternative indie rock music, influenced by jazz, hip hop and electronic music from the last 4 decades.
★★★★ deStandaard review Live at AB:
"Au mépris de son caractère insaisissable, Bombataz fait de la pop. De la pop comme seuls les Belges savent le faire, avec un angle mort".
★★★★ Le Soir Album review
"Le quartet bruxellois surprend et enchante avec ses chansons pop teintées de jazz, d'électro, de funk, de noise."
